We are sorry it has been a while since we have sent out a News update. This is because we have been dealing with a severe long term virus and hacking attack attempting to once again silence us. It was not successful and we are back on line with our news service.

Our opinions on the key updates,

1. Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and the Scientology cult: We fully anticipate that, in the not too far foreseeable future, Nicole Kidman (the former wife of Tom Cruise) will be going very public [in and out of court] on Scientology and what Scientology has done to Tom Cruise and their children. We believe that Nicole’s reasons for soon going public is to secure complete custody of their children and to protect other families from the Scientology experience. Since her divorce from Tom Cruise, and as part of her personal recovery from the Scientology experience, she has been very quietly learning about cults and mind control. We now believe she has come to the realization that if her children continue to be exposed to Scientology cult mind control with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, it will only be a matter of time before her children are coerced into ‘disconnecting’’ from her or are coerced into making false claims about her. Both of which will mean that she will lose her children to the cult. Because of her financial resources, we anticipate that her legal team that will take up challenge with Scientology in order to secure child custody will include the law firms with the most successful history of litigation against Scientology. This team has also been the most successful with regard to dealing with Scientology’s legendary intimidation. Her team of witnesses will most certainly contain the world’s foremost experts on mind control and how this cult affects children and former cult members and their children. FACTNet praises Nicole’s intelligence in realizing that this fight cannot be delayed without considerable damage to her children. We praise her courage in standing up to protect her own children. We praise her courage that will, because of her celebrity, provide a powerful teaching example that will educate millions worldwide to the horrors of Scientology’s effect on the individual and the family. We believe Nicole’s ongoing/upcoming actions will be a shining example of how the power of celebrity can be used for good. We believe mothers and other individuals globally will closely follow this developing story and also will be personally inspired by Nicole’s battles with this ruthless cult’s intimidation and silencing tactics.

2.        We have expanded our major breakthrough in cult education on the Internet. We will soon share the operational details on this major breakthrough with other cult education organizations all over the world because ---- some things are just far too important not to share! 3.        We have dramatically upgraded our web site with new, cult and mind control newswire features. Check out our homepage.
4.        We have added a new International news section on the web site, as we have truly become a global educational influence on cult mind control.
5.        We have a new FACTNet Logo and web page graphics and layout.
6.        We have beefed up online security to combat the endless virus and hack attacks by those who want to silence us.
7.        We are continuing to lower administrative costs and directing more of our budget to those direct online activities that are the most effective in protecting freedom of mind from the harms caused by psychological coercion used by destructive cults. And,
8.        By the time you receive this we will have passed the 18,000,000 web site hit mark and will soon have reached our two millionth individual visitor mark.
…Now more on the FACTNet breakthrough in online cult education from number 2 above:
For some time we have been using the pay-per-click search engine tool [ i.e. GoTo.com etc.] for pre-emptive and innoculative cult education which specifically targets people who were not too far into a cult yet or are just beginning to look for information on some cultic group.
Our successes using this new tool were so great that Scientology devised a scheme of creating numerous competitive bidding web pages to attempt to block us from appearing anywhere on high search results for the major Internet Search engines. This new Scientology blocking now occurs when someone searches any of the following terms Scientology, Scientology, L Ron Hubbard, Dianetique, Dianetics, Dianetica, and Cienciologia (French and Spanish).

In all cases where we have placed a bid in order to gain a foot-hold in the top three positions of websites that are affiliated with GoTo.com the Scientologists have consistently counter-attacked by moving their numerous sites ABOVE our position so that any websites that present an alternative to the official Scientology line are relegated to Search-Engine hell and stand little, if any, chance of being found on the major search engines of the Net. This leaves us with little option but to continue to raise our bids (which, on many an occasion, has gone up to 35 cents per click.) [If you want to see this in action, type in ‘’Scientology’’ into the search window at GoTo.Com. Depending on where the search censorship battle currently sits, you will either see FACTNet’s listing for Scientology’s Dirty Secrets or you will see page after page of Scientology’s blocking web pages knocking us off the listings.]

The reason GoTo is being used is that it affects Search Results in America Online (AOL), Lycos, AltaVista, HotBot, Netscape, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Ask Jeeves, CompuServe, EarthLink and many other search engines. Cumulatively, this amounts to about 75% or more of the Internet according to GoTo.

This is just another battle with this destructive cult (remember the Scientology raid on Factnet fiasco) that we will win with your help. All that is necessary AT THIS POINT win is to have the additional financial resources needed to keep raising the search bids when necessary while at the same time working with the pay-per-click companies to get them to disallow Scientology’s censorship scheme of simultaneously bidding with numerous web sites to completely block out all opposing voices.

We are making some good initial progress on this pay-per click multiple web page abuse issue and we expect additional major media coverage on this perversion of the Internet search engines. We even expect coverage in the Business media because if Scientology is successful with this de facto search engine censorship tactic, it could mean that any unscrupulous business that also wanted to choke out their competitor’s search engine advertising on the Internet could copy the tactic. This would create virtual advertising monopolies in the world’s largest marketing tool. This would also have a devastating impact on websites that cannot afford this kind of financial warfare where only the biggest fish with the largest resources will come out on top. The Internet’s promise as a means towards a “leveling of the playing-fields” will have come to an end.

At FACTNet our goal is not to protect fair trade issues on the Internet. Our mission is to protect the power that the Internet has for cult education. As we all know, the Internet has already proved that, by ethical education alone, it can cripple new cult member recruitment --- without the potentially dangerous and expensive physical confrontations or interventions common in trying to help get long term cult members out.
